For this week's test drive, I have a wonderful roadster for you. Its the sexy scintillating Fiat Spider 124, the Italian auto maker's entry that has returned with a vengeance. I love roadsters, and who doesn't? Wiki says A roadster is an open two-seat car with emphasis on sporting appearance or character. Initially an American term for a two-seat car with no weather protection, usage has spread internationally and has evolved to include two-seat convertibles. They come at various various price ranges from $19,000 to around $1.4 million so you decide if you chose to get one.
The Fiat Spider 124 is a pure roadster and roadsters are the cat's meow for drivers who love a combination of great handling, great looks and smart design. Add to that the fact that convertible Roadsters allow you to simply have more fun. It's all about the experience and this roadster delivers an amazing experience with the top up or down. Tony Lesesne takes it for a spin and that reveals that the 124 Spider sports a fuel-efficient turbocharged engine, and the drive is agile and comfortable.
Inside, as you can see at left, the color scheme, chrome, leather and gadgetry makes for an attractive environment and with the top down, you feel like the King (or Queen) of the world. Starting around the mid-twenties (price-wise) the Spider 124 is affordable, fun and peppy but only you and your BFF can fit in this car and that's how its supposed to be with a roadster.
