Tech met tenacity recently at Duke University as #TechZone Tivon Madison and InFocusTV Carolinas captured the pulse of an unforgettable STEM Day—an all-girls empowerment explosion designed to fuel futures, break barriers, and open every locked door in sight.
Hosted on Duke’s iconic campus, the event was powered in part by the visionary Infinite Scholar Program, which connects students with college opportunities and financial aid resources. This wasn’t just a career fair—it was a launchpad. Add the brilliance of Triangle Women in STEM, a local powerhouse advocating for equity in science and technology fields, and the wellness-first financial intelligence of FinFit Life, and you’ve got a full-circle STEM experience.

Tivon Madison has been a quiet, but impactful force in the tech ecosystem. His insight, experience and leadership continues to influence tech leaders and young tech students alike in the North Carolina Triangle.

The vibe? All good. The mission? Empowerment through access, exposure, and excitement. Students rotated through electrifying experiences like robotics, music technology, the science of cosmetics, and clean energy innovations—bridging curiosity with career paths.
"I was inspired to be a part of the conversation" Madison said. He's aligned himself with positive, forward thinking efforts, linking them to LMG Media for greater exposure and awareness. He added "having experts get in front of the young ladies, addressing the science behind dynamic tech like robotics, incredible insight on chemical impact of cosmetics, renewable energy, and hands on real world applications." Madison said the content even included innovations from windmill energy to more. "It was Hands-on, indulgent expereinces for the girls and I was impressed." Madison added.
Each breakout session was designed to inspire. Girls watched drones take flight, coded basic music beats, and discovered how chemistry plays a part in everything from lip gloss to batteries. In the cosmetics session, tech met texture as students learned how compounds, molecules, and formulas drive today’s booming beauty industry. Meanwhile, parents weren’t sidelined. They received insider knowledge on funding higher education—from scholarships and federal aid to unique programs highlighted by the Infinite Scholar team.
Knowledge is power, and this event made sure families walked away equipped. Triangle Women in STEM brought role models and real talk—women who look like the students in the room, sharing their journeys from underrepresented communities to tech leadership. And FinFit Life reminded everyone that health and wealth go hand in hand, with a wellness-driven approach to financial freedom that supports academic and career success. As #TechZone Tivon explored every corner of the event, the cameras of InFocusTV Carolinas captured a simple truth: there are no locked doors when opportunity meets preparation.
STEM DAY POWERED UP: GIRLS, GADGETS, AND GREATNESS ON DUKE CAMPUS
STEM—short for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—is more than just a catchy acronym. It’s the backbone of innovation and a critical force behind economic growth, national security, and global competitiveness.
The U.S. Department of Education has repeatedly emphasized the importance of STEM education in building a stronger, more skilled workforce. Simply put: STEM is the engine driving the talent pipeline of the future.

This focus on STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—reflects a critical understanding that these fields are not only essential for innovation and economic growth but also for addressing complex global challenges. By equipping students with strong foundations in STEM, we empower them to become critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators who can adapt to rapidly evolving industries and contribute meaningfully to society.

The vibe? All good. The mission? Empowerment through access, exposure, and excitement. Students rotated through electrifying experiences like robotics, music technology, the science of cosmetics, and clean energy innovations—bridging curiosity with career paths.
Each session was hands-on and future-focused. Girls watched drones take flight, built digital beats from scratch, and discovered the chemistry behind everything from lip gloss to electric car batteries. In the clean energy lab, solar panels sparked more than power—they sparked purpose.

Parents weren’t just spectators. Breakout sessions equipped them with strategies to fund higher education—from federal aid and scholarships to key insights shared by the Infinite Scholar team.
Triangle Women in STEM brought real role models, women from underrepresented backgrounds who now lead in tech and science industries; proving the future isn’t just bright, it’s inclusive. And FinFit Life reminded us all that physical wellness and financial literacy go hand in hand when building lifelong success.
