Some may see the voting registered numbers in Miami Gardens as a sign that one candidate may get the edge from that city—but the city also has very low turnout in voters—who knows who will be the dark horse—pulling together a stunning upset as we speak.
However, this short turnaround presents a significant challenge for voters and candidates alike. While many of these contenders have been pillars in their own communities—whether in South Broward or across the vibrant, multicultural hubs of North Miami, Miami Gardens, and beyond—name recognition is not yet uniform.
A congressional district is vast, and a candidate well-known to a city council or a county commission might be a fresh face to a neighbor in a different part of the district.
