WOMEN'S POWER CAUCUS (WPC) to include an intimate dialogue and exchange with Mayoral Candidate & Miami-Dade Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava

The Goal: Help women bounce back from failures and setbacks

Each year, the WPC includes a conversation around politics.  Elected officials, candidates and attendees  engage in a powerful dialogue around power, impact and solutions. From city and county commissioners and mayors, to chiefs of staff and influencers, the WPC delivers on the promise of addressing today's most vital issues relating to women and power. Recognizing the need to help ambitious, driven women bounce back from setbacks, founder/producer Woodie Lesesne announced the addition of one of the most powerful women in the region on the panel, Daniella Levine Cava Miami-Dade County Commissioner, Dist. 8 and candidate for Miami-Dade Mayor will engage attendees in an interactive “solutions-driven” exchange during the opening day reception on the afternoon of Friday July 19th 2019 at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Miami. She is joined by Dr Joy Vaughan, author, neuropsychologist and brain based behavior educator on the topic of "Resilience" and bouncing back from difficulties.

“Having Daniella engage women is powerful because when it comes to bouncing back and being resilient, Daniella has seen it, been through it and has helped others through it” said Woodie Lesesne,  “Becoming one of the most powerful women in the region comes with setbacks. Founded in 2002, this two-day event has been a must attend for women focused on elevating their capacity to lead, influence and make an impact through economic, business, political and community efforts. We certainly have fun, while we celebrate and lift each other up, " added Lesesne.

With decades of service to individuals and families, Levine Cava has served as an advocate for South Florida families for over 30 years. The award-winning Yale graduate (psychology degree with honors) founded Catalyst Miami in 1996 to help low and middle-income families through education and advocacy and to help the bounce back and become self-sufficient. She represented children in the child welfare system as Associate and Legal Director for the Guardian Ad Litem Program. Commissioner Levine Cava served on the Florida Bar Committee on Legal Needs of Children; the boards of League of Women Voters, North Dade Medical Foundation, South Florida Health Information Initiative, and several national boards.

Millennial women in leadership  to engage seasoned executive women at 2019 WPC Power Panel

Maiya Gitryte, is a millennial with experience, confidence and a strong sense of community. Yet she is hoping to connect with generations of women with greater experience to eliminate negative perceptions of millennials that disable potential opportunities for collaboration.

Seasoned women across the nation and millennials are all wrestling with ways to connect with one another. Both generations realize that power is more expansive when it attracts multi-generational participants to share and learn from one another. Gitryte is a product of the guidance provided through the organization of Concerned African Women, a not for profit that supports children and families with various educational and social needs. Recognizing that there are candid conversations that must be had, WPC will host a POWER PANEL to address ways to connect women of various generations to build stronger bonds, develop new alliances, and deliver strategies to take the knowledge gained to their respective communities.
